This compact accordion has unfortunately no name. It has 34 treble keys with 2 push switches , 80 bass keys, and owns 3 reed blocks in the treble and 3 rows (5 voices) in the bass part. Probably it was made in the second world war, aprox. 1941?
The company F. A. Rauner was one of the largests manufacturers of accordions in Klingenthal, Saxony / Germany. It was founded in 1864. At the end of the 30th, in the last century, it was also one of the largest manufacturer of it's kind in the world. Among other companies, this company had been integrated into the “Klingenthaler Harmonikawerke” in 1949. The accordions with the name “Weltmeister”, today still beeing produced there, are well known in the world.
The quality of the a. m. accordion is so excellent, that there is no problem to play on it, beeing as it is.

Al fin de los anos treinta, siglo pasado, tambíen la fue una de las mas grandes manufacturas de acordeónes en el mundo. Entre otras empresas, Rauner fue fusionada y integrada en las “Klingenthaler Harmonikawerke” en el año 1949. Acordeónes con el nombre “Weltmeister”, hoy mismo fabricados alli, son bien conocidos en todo el mundo.

Guten tag. A Rauner just like the one in the images was handed down to me from my dad. I stumbled on it recently while cleaning out the storage room. It was originally owned by a great uncle who lived in Abruzzi Italy. He was an instrument maker and musician. I remember him playing it back in 1959 at grandpa's house in New York. I am pleased to have found your website exhibiting one in excellent condition. Ciao- auf wiedersehen.

many thanks for your comment regarding your Rauner Accordion. Again and again it's fascinating to hear the different stories from the whereabaouts of accordions.
In this connection I imagine that often they were accompanied by emigrants from the old world to the new one, who carried sometimes only a small suitcase, but refused to part with their accordions, for to have one substantial keepsake from the old home.
